Title: Reciprocal situations in Toba

Description: In this session we explored the encoding of reciprocal situations on transitive and intransitive predicates in Toba. This task is part of a comparative work on reciprocals in Toba and Mocoví. We tested the compatibility of the suffix -aʔt with meanings such as ‘cut’, ‘stab’, ‘play’, ‘change.location’, ‘shorten’, ‘get.together’, ‘chase’, ‘explode’, ‘dry’, ‘hard’ and ‘come’. These predicates were selected based on the Mocoví predicates that have shown a positive correlation with reciprocal morphology. We study if compatibilities between predicates and reciprocal morphology in Toba also show similarities in meaning and predicate distribution with what has been observed in Mocoví. The session includes audio and video. / En esta sesión exploramos la codificación de situaciones recpíprocas con predicados transitivos e intransitivos en toba. Esta tarea es parte de un trabajo comparativo sobre recíprocos en toba y mocoví. Testeamos la compatibilidad del sufijo -aʔt con los conceptos de ‘cortar’, ‘hincar’, ‘jugar’, ‘mudarse’, ‘achicarse’, ‘perseguir’, ‘expltar’, ‘seco’, ‘duro’, y ‘llegar’. Estos predicados se seleccionaron basándonos en los predicados del mocoví que se combinan con morfología de recíproco. Observamos si las compatibilidades entre predicados y morfología de recíproco en toba muestra similitudes de significado y distribución con respecto a lo que se observó en mocoví. La sesión incluye audio y video.
