Summary of the collection
Ni-Vanuatu came from all over Vanuatu, from Pentecost, Santo, Malekula, Torres Island and Ambrym to The National University of Vanuatu in Port Vila to train in modern languages documentation. Participants recorded custom stories, songs, narratives and descriptions in 10 different languages. The training was co-organised by PARADISEC and ELDP and was led by Mandana Seyfeddinipur and Nick Thieberger.
Group represented
There were 45 participants who took part in the workshop speaking more than 25 languages.
Collection contents
The collection comprises video recordings covering custom stories, songs, narratives and descriptions in 10 different languages.
